My favourite local place for ramen and a bit of sushi

Very cute place and very savoury food.

Fast and quality food, a main meal and a beer for around £10, around that area, you would be hard pushed to do much better. A quiet and sophisticated place, it was perfect for the business meeting I had. Great location near Finchley Road station.

Ate here twice. First time was great. Second time I think the pork was going bad and felt pretty sick afterwards

Favourite sushi in London. While Udon looks unassuming; the quality of fish, the simple decor and the friendly service shine through to a wonderful dinning experience. Udon's sashimi is always fresh and my favourite part of the meal, I always have to have it. We recently left London but when we are in town we will be visiting Udon again. Niovi&Chris

I live close to Udon Cafe so I've been here many times. I'm happy to say that I have never been disappointed here. The service is polite and fast. The atmosphere is nice with soft music and the place is always immaculately clean. They have nice metal chopsticks, and minions chopsticks for children. But most importantly, the food is wonderful. I've had the bibimbap, ramen, donburi, and noodle dishes, both with meat and fish, and it is always delicious and perfectly cooked. I have tried lots of the starters such as the chicken dishes, octopus balls, pumpkin fritters, and squid. All are delicious and decently sized portions. My favourite dishes here are the octopus balls starter, and the chicken donburi main. I have not tried the sushi here yet but it looks good, and I see a lot of Japanese customers order it. They have a wide selection of sake and beer, as well as lots of soft drinks including bubble tea which is very nice.

Bibimbap was pretty good, donburi was so salty I couldn’t eat it. 1.90 for powdered matcha, not great.

The restaurant was clean, and the food was good, though nothing special. The staff were competent and friendly, however, didn’t bring water for the whole table, despite being asked multiple times; instead they brought a single glass each time.

A good ramen is hard to find. The chilli chicken one here at Udon was delicious. Will definitely be back.

This site is my first choice place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to this restaurant. everytime I feel like having a good supper, this is the place that comes instantly to my mind. fresh and many types of food and a large menu.great staff members, and nice mood. Not less important, the price is honest. I tell about this restaurant with pleasure.

Friendly staff and fast service. Been a few times already, always ordering something different and I'm still to find a meal that does not taste lovely.

Both Japanese and Korean foods are fine and delicious .

No complaints really. Food was excellent, service was excellent.

I enjoyed my food, delicious gyoza's and chilli squid, I ordered the wrong noodles but I enjoyed them none the less. Service was lacking but it suited me I don't like when the staff come over and bother me while I am eating.

Delicious fresh sushi, one of the best I’ve tasted in London.

Love this place. We were initially hesitant about going in as the name and sign outside make it look like a chain restaurant, but we took a punt and are so glad we did!We live locally and are always finding excuses to go back now. Don't be put off by the outward appearance, busy roadside location or basic/stark interior and atmosphere (although it would be even better if these things could be improved). The food is delicious, the service helpful yet non-intrusive, and it's generally reasonably priced for what it is. Great bibimbap, sushi and gyōza. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

Passed by and decided to give it a try. Food quickly served which was appreciated as we had the theatre. Will definitely go again.

Good for a quick bite to eat

The place is a bit on the pricey side but the food is worth. Its delicious and had a very good variety-something for everyone. The portion sizes are good and there's a good selection of drinks. Definitely recommend it.

Always visit this place when I'm in the area and in the mood for some Japanese food. Recommend the chilli squid and takoyaki.

This small little cafe on Finchley Road serves a Japanese menu. It's cheap and cheerful and the food is of a good standard. Their portions are decently sized and their different sushi rolls are ingenious. Service is not very friendly, but they are respectable and always try and accommodate.

Was surprised to find this place to not have higher rating. It deserves something like 4.5 or so at least. I eat a lot of Japanese food across the world, including in Asia, and this place is good to very good for the price range. Tempura was freshly made, the sashimi was generously cut allowing for good mouth feel, and the sushi rice was done properly, at least compared to most places in the UK; not stale or packed too hard, and not too cold from sitting around too long. It’s a clear improvement above any UK chain and better than a lot of restaurants in the UK, and at a very reasonable price. Service and atmosphere was ok, wasn’t too cramped or noisy.

this is Korean Japanese restaurant so I reccomend Korean cuisine to choose. Japchae and seaweed salada was good.

Simple discreet asian restaurant, they mainly serve Japanese type of food, however they have a bit more to their menu like Korean food. Quality is good as for the choices, they are pretty similar to most Japanese places

Writing this review because I can't believe the rating! Absolutely delicious ramen, deserved 5 stars. Ordered our food and didn't have to wait long either - we ordered the chilli chicken and the udon cafe special. Very satisfying and flavourful. Lucky to live so close to it!

I wouldn’t say it’s very authentic but it was good food. Had gyoza+ramen set and wasn’t disappointing at all.Friendly staffs and cozy atmosphere.Would recommend!

Good pibimbap!

Great food, friendly staff and very nice atmosphere.

Superb Maki and Dragon Rolls, even if the Chicken Kara Age was the temperature of boiling lava when it was served. :) Also try the Spicy Octopus Salad starter (it isn’t a salad, but it’s delicious). The Mochi Ice Cream was great. One of the best meals I’ve had in ages.

My boyfriend and I went for a dinner at Udon and we were absolutely shocked by poor service and a very rude waitress. I had a Chicken Yaki Soba with some rolls and both dishes were pretty average if not disappointing at all. Hope they improve their service.

I have been udon cafe twice now after a long day and although I have pretty much only got starters as I haven't been to hungry the food has been top class and it's nice that it's a small business and the workers are always ready and fast

Excellent Japanese ramen. The soup base was very good. Sushi is also delicious. Serve very fast.

I think the food here is great - a nice array of stuff and generally quite tasty.

I live in the area so whenever I’m looking for some quality comfort food, I go to Udon for its great bibimbap!

Popular Japanese cafe, with a varied menu including a good selection of Sushi, and traditional favourites such as Tonkatsu.Service is efficient and quick, and food well prepared, with good sized portions.

Lovely food, and very inviting staff. Always make sure I visit when I'm in the neighbourhood.

Omg the food was delicious!! Originally was going to order udon but when I saw they had a Korean menu I opted for the kimchi stew. Will definitely be coming back!
